Starlink Mini on your roof rack: fitment for Prinsu, Sherpa, Front Runner, and platform racks

The two questions that decide fitment

1. Do two crossbars fall within the plate's footprint? The mounting slots are four 5/16 inch rounded slots; the plate spans crossbars along its 15.5 inch axis. Measure your center-to-center crossbar spacing where you want the dish.
2. Does your crossbar accept top-facing T-slot hardware? The included kit is 1/4-20 roll-in T-nuts, stainless button-head bolts, and washers.

If the answer to both is yes, you're done. Rack by rack:

Prinsu-style racks (Prinsu, upTOP, CBI, Cali Raised)

This is the rack family the plate was designed on. Extruded aluminum crossbars with top-facing T-slots that take common 1/4-20 roll-in T-nuts: the included hardware drops straight in. Slide the T-nuts into the slot, set the plate long-axis front to back, snug the four bolts. About 15 minutes with a hex key.

Sherpa racks

Sherpa's extruded crossbars also carry top T-slots and are the same install story: roll-in T-nuts, four bolts, done. Verify your specific model's slot width takes a standard 1/4-20 T-nut and that two bars sit within the plate's span where you want the dish.

Front Runner, ARB, and platform racks

Full platform racks give you plenty of flat structure, but their channels are usually metric. The plate's 5/16 inch slots clear M6 hardware with room to spare, so if your platform uses M6 channel nuts, source four of those locally and skip the included 1/4-20 kit. M8 bolts will not pass through the slots. The plate can also sit across two slats and bolt through with backing washers if you prefer.

Factory crossbars and aero bars

Flat-topped factory crossbars with accessory T-slots (common on trucks and SUVs with rail systems) work like the Prinsu case. Rounded aero bars are the hard case: the plate wants two flat landing lines, and curved bars need the rubber strip channel to accept T-slot adapters. If your bars are round or heavily curved, measure twice or ask us before ordering.

No rack at all?

Then this plate isn't your answer, and we'd rather tell you that than take the order. For steel roofs, magnetic feet work directly. For aluminum or fiberglass roofs without a rack, adhesive steel discs or a suction system are the honest options; we compared them in the aluminum roof guide.

Pre-order checklist

• Crossbar spacing: two bars within the 15.5 inch span at your mounting spot.
• Top-facing slots that accept 1/4-20 roll-in T-nuts (or M6 channel hardware).
• Clearance: the dish plus mount adds a few inches of height; check garage and tent fitment.
• A rack hard point near the plate for the tether (5/8 inch pass-through is built into the plate).
